The only thing that kept Gwydion alive during this time were the tools and practices of his developing spirituality. He always had felt a connection the the natural world, the faeries and spirits as well as ‘God’. It wasn’t before his teenage years, though, that he started to consciously study and embrace these connections. He got involved in Witchcraft, Paganism and other earth-based traditions. He studied Greek mythology and found inspiration and guidance in the poetry of the mystics from several traditions all over the world.
When he finally escaped his home situation at age 17 he was an emotional mess. He was suicidal, highly codependent and had no self-worth to speak of. He hadn’t even begun to heal the severe traumas of his childhood and adolescence. Everything he had were his psychic skills, his spiritual practices and his strong will to get better and give life at least one final shot.
Since then he used every available tool and tested every spiritual practice he came across to get better, to integrate his abusive childhood and to claw his way back from hell into the light of day.
